Custom Settings: Attendance Attended Value

Attendance Attended Value

This setting only controls the behavior of the campaign synchronization at this time, and only when the custom metadata setting “Link Course Campaign” is set to “Attendance.”

Impacts:

When a student is added as a Campaign Member to the linked Campaign IF AND ONLY IF your setting for Link Course to Campaign is set to Attended.

Default Value:

Attended

Default Behavior:

A student whose Attendance record Status is changed to “Attended” will be added as a campaign member to the linked campaign on the course.

Behavior when setting is changed

A student whose Attendance record Status is changed to whatever is in the setting Value will be added as a campaign member to the linked campaign on the course.

Example:

You might use the word “Present” instead of “Attended” on your Take Attendance screen to indicate that a student was in class. You would change the Attendance picklist value to reflect your local changes and change the value in this custom setting.

To use this setting, you would:

  1. Decide which Attendance Status picklist value means that a student was in class on a given day, if it differs from the word “Attended.”

  2. Find the field Status on the Attendance object and add your custom wording or overwrite the Attended value with your custom wording.

  3. Update the “Value” field for this custom metadata record with the exact value of your picklist item from the Status field on the Attendance object.
