Drop Automation

This setting controls the part of the Course Enrollment Flow delivered with RollCall that will automatically update all child Attendance records when a Course Enrollment is set to indicate a student has dropped the course and will not be returning.

Behavior on linked Attendance records when an action is taken on the parent Course Enrolment

Default Behavior: 

If you are using the Flows delivered with RollCall AND you change the Enrollment Status to Dropped Out (or your local version), all linked Attendance Records will be set to “Dropped / Not Returning” (or your local version) as of the date of the session in the Drop As Of field or today if that field is blank.

Behavior when setting is changed: 

When the Value of this setting is Off, empty or anything other than On, linked Attendance records will not be updated to indicate a Dropped status by the RC Flows.

Example:

You might not want to automatically indicate a student has dropped the course and remove that student from the Take Attendance pages. In this case you may not wish to update the linked Attendance records even if the student’s Course Enrollment status indicates they will not return. You can turn off the automations to accommodate this use case.
