Custom Settings: Session Autoname

Session Autoname

This setting controls the part of the Session Flow delivered with RollCall that will automatically name (or rename) the Session record.

Impacts:

Behavior when new Session records are created or date field on Session is updated

Default Value:

On

Default Behavior:

If you are using the Flows delivered with RollCall, the Session record will be named with the pattern of Course Date (e.g. “Math 101 03/03/2023”). The dates are localized based on your Date Locale.

Behavior when setting is changed

When the Value of this setting is Off, empty or anything other than On, newly created Attendance records will not get autonamed by the RC Flows.

Example:

You may prefer to have a different naming convention for ease of use in reports or list views. You would need to turn the autonaming from RollCall off and build your own Flow to perform your own customized autonaming.

To use this setting, you would:

  1. Decide if you need a different autoname pattern for Session records and, if so, build and test your own local Flow to handle your unique situation.

  2. Update the “Value” field for this custom metadata record with: Off
